- Q) How can I contact MR Mac Software with technical questions not listed
- below?
- A) For the quickest reply, send e-mail to nsgsupport@mrmac.com. If you don't
- have access to e-mail, then you check the Contacting MR Mac chapter
- of this manual for additional methods of contacting MR Mac.
-
- Q) Network Security Guard crashes when I run my mailer in the background.
- A) The process that NSG performs requires dedicated processor time since
- the polling and logging on require specific timing. (This is the same way the
- Chooser functions.) You will need to quit out of all applications that will ask
- for processor time while running NSG. e.g. Quit from any e-mail programs
- that check for mail every few minutes.
-
- Q) Everytime I put Network Security Guard in the background it crashes.
- A) NSG cannot run in the background due to the synchronous nature of
- the log on procedure. Unfortunately, this is an AFP limitation that we
- cannot work around.
-
- Q) Network Security Guard appears to hang when performing a check.
- A) Some of the operations performed during a check are very
- processor intensive which may make it appear that the program is
- hung (especially with large servers and file list checks). However,
- if you allow the program to continue to process, you'll see the globe
- rotating - letting you know that everything is OK.
